Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) - Training Program Options

For your campus, workplace or location to fulfill its mission you must prevent violence. However, most of the security and safety professionals we talk to are concerned they are only reacting to incidents. Many programs use the word "prevention" in their title but after closer examination, these programs are simply reacting faster. To reliably prevent the next active shooting, or for that matter violence of any kind, bullying, verbal abuse and passive-aggressive behavior, you must identify those on the path to violence, before they act, and intervene.

Utilizing the Center for Aggression Management’s proprietary Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS), learn how to reliably prevent violence including horrific acts like a workplace or school shooting. Leveraging scientifically validated methods, elevate your plans and programs to the highest level of evidence-based best practices available. Without an evidence-based approach like CAPS, it’s impossible to determine if your efforts are producing results until it’s too late.

J. Randy Ryan, District Manager at AlliedBarton Security explains:

“For years, I have presented Active Shooter and Workplace Violence seminars and Tabletop Exercises. I have always been troubled that we have talked mostly about the actions and aftermath. The Center for Aggression Management has put my mind at ease with the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS). CAPS is the ounce of prevention that has been missing from the standard approach to workplace violence. The lives saved by using this approach could be countless.”

For a 5-minute glimpse into how CAPS works, watch this interview.

The Ambassadors Workshop, using a train-the-trainer approach, prepares you to implement and conduct the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) Training (software sold separately). CAPS is not merely training; it is a system that produces empirical and forensic results. Utilizing CAPS, organizations can demonstrate through evidence-based best practices that their venues are as safe as possible.

The Ambassadors Workshop is a webinar-based training that allows you to sit at your computer, from anywhere in the world, face to face with the founder and CEO of the Center for Aggression Management, John D. Byrnes. He takes you through the step-by-step process of learning to foresee the precursors to violence and thus maximizing your opportunity to reliably prevent it.

This Ambassadors Workshop(train-the-trainers) is intended to provide an in-house training capability for your organization. Ask us about our commercial application for consultants. Prospective trainers take the two-day workshop and then have two more days of intensive training and exercises including practice teaching and assessment. Upon successful completion of the four-day training, participants receive Center for Aggression Management Ambassador (C.A.M.A.) certified trainer credentials for as little as $995.00 per attendee (reductions for volume and timing). Once we receive full payment, the complete package of information will be sent to you by e-mail enabling you to begin your preparation for the workshop.

Health care industry employers across the United States are now required, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to raise their standards to include workplace violence prevention. OSHA declared, “Health care and social service workers are almost four times more likely to be injured as a result of violence than the average private sector worker.” In 2015, OSHA issued citations to and levied fines on several healthcare providers for workplace violence prevention failures. Many health care leaders think they have a workplace violence prevention plan but learn too late they don’t. How will you empirically demonstrate to OSHA that you have an effective violence prevention plan?

The Center for Aggression Management’s Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) utilizes scientifically validated means to reliably prevent workplace violence using evidence-based best practices. There are no other programs that rise to this level. Attendees will become Certified Aggression Managers (CAM) by learning the following:

  • How to apply the scientifically validated CAPS that enables its user to evaluate behavior that is aggressive (i.e., destructive, negative, threatening), and identify the individual who is on the path to violence.

  • How to use CAPS to determine the level of aggression the individual has reached and its associated threat level (low, moderate, and high threat risk).

  • Learn how CAPS only assesses aggressive behavior. Certified Aggression Managers can therefore record and track this aggressive behavior without violating HIPAA or privacy regulations.

The Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) uses scientific cause-and-effect principles within its Meter of Emerging Aggression (MEA). CAPS produces the highest form of evidence-based best practices. This enables Certified Aggression Managers to remain objective, improve their legal defensibility and offers an extra measure of protection for all within the workplace.

The CAPS Solution is based on 25 years of research into aggressive behavior, and the recognition that practical tools to identify, measure, and assess specifically emerging human aggression were lacking.

CAPS is uniquely built upon scientifically validated measures of emerging aggression, providing Certified Aggression Managers the opportunity to reliably prevent bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, the loss of trust, and the next shooting with its proprietary Primal and Cognitive Aggression Continua and MEA.

The Certified Aggression Managers Workshop is intended to provide in-house utility, without the cost of travel and lodging. Upon successful completion of this two-day training, participants receive Aggression Managers Certification for as little as $595 per attendee (reductions for volume: with four participants, a fifth one comes free). Once we receive full payment (credit cards are accepted below), the complete package of information will be sent to you by e-mail so you can begin learning these critical skills

The Certified Aggression Managers' Workshop is only $595.00 per person.

The Introduction to the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) is a three-hour webinar training for Human Resource, Security, Risk Management, Employee Relations, and Social Services Professionals and people on the frontlines of aggressive/violent behaviors. In addition to preventing violence, we’ll address how to prevent bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, and the resulting loss of trust that negatively effects teamwork, loyalty and leadership.

This CAPS Solution is based on 25 years of research into aggressive behavior, and the recognition that practical tools to identify, measure, and assess specifically emerging human aggression were lacking. CAPS meets that need and produces the highest form of evidence-based best practices. CAPS is the most effective system for achieving maximum organizational safety and security in a practical, scalable and affordable way.

This workshop is for individuals considering implementation of CAPS in their organization; becoming a Certified Aggression Manager; or enrolling in the Ambassadors Workshop. ABOUT THE CAPS MOBILE APP

CAPS Mobile App is the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) in the palm of your hand. What is the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS)?

Using methods sited by the US Secret Service and the FBI, the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) Mobile App identifies, defines, measures, and longitudinally tracks the precursors of human-based aggressive behavior, i.e., body language, behavior and communication indicators. These sequential successive precursors to violence in the CAPS Mobile App also offer the precursors to Bullying, Harassment, Abuse, Discrimination and Conflict. This CAPS Mobile App also offers the user the corresponding Best Practice responses so that the user can maximize their diffusing techniques and thus prevent any further escalation and threats of violence.

The Secret Service and the FBI have long stated that the only reliable way to identify a future shooter is by identifying "someone on the path to violence." This CAPS Mobile App contains scientifically validated, objective, measurable, observable precursors of "someone on the path to violence."

Bullying represents someone exhibiting bullying behavior. You are reacting to Bullying, not preventing it. The same precursors used to identify someone on the path to violence can be used to prevent Bullying, Harassment, Abuse, Discrimination and Conflict. This CAPS Mobile App has the only system that offers RELIABLE PREVENTION of Bullying, Harassment, Abuse, Discrimination, Conflict and Violence.

If you would like our institutional CAPS Mobile App to integrate with your Threat Assessment or Behavioral Intervention Team, reach out to us. We have that system and would love to discuss it to you!

You can have this one-of-a-kind tool that identifies, records, analyzes and recommends effective responses, all in the palm of your hand, with CAPS Mobile App for one year for the low price of just $49.95. Discounts are available for volume licenses.

Institutional CAPS Mobile App:

This institutional/organizational/corporate system is made up of CAPS Mobile Apps and a Microsoft PC based CAPS Dashboard. The CAPS Administrator assigns CAPS Mobile Apps to Aggression First Observers and Certified Aggression Managers. You may remember that:

1.     Aggression First Observers are those individuals who are on the frontlines of aggressive behavior, and these individuals are trained to identify human-based “objective” observables and report them.

2.     Certified Aggression Managers, which are often senior managers and/or members of a threat assessment team. These individuals are trained to diffuse potential aggressors.

3.     The CAPS Administrator assigns CAPS Mobile App to Aggression First Observers and Certified Aggression Managers and manages the CAPS Dashboard.

Once an Aggression First Observer identifies an aggressor and places their observed aggressive behaviors into their CAPS Mobile App and submits, this information instantly arrives on the CAPS Dashboard. Upon its arrival, an automatic email is sent to all Certified Aggression Managers with a link to log into the CAPS Dashboard to review what has been submitted and make any comments and/or suggestions. Every Certified Aggression Manager will have instant access to the PC based CAPS Dashboard once a case has been submitted. The CAPS Administrator determines who will have access to the CAPS Dashboard.

When interested in our institutional/organizational/corporate CAPS Mobile Apps with a Microsoft PC based CAPS Dashboard system, we recommend you reach out to our staff at 407-718-5637 or info@AggressionManagement.com.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS CAPS MOBILE APP:

1.     The CAPS Mobile App is the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) in the palm of your hand!

2.     The Secret Service and the FBI have stated that the only reliable way to identify a future shooter is by identifying “someone on the path to violence.” This Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) Mobile App contains scientifically validated, objective, measurable observables of "someone on the path to violence."

3.     The CAPS) Mobile App is a system that enables you to identify, analyze, diffuse and longitudinally track aggressive behaviors (escalating or de-escalating) over time: aggressive behaviors such as Bullying, Harassment, Abuse, Discrimination and Violence. Further, our CAPS Mobile App offers corresponding diffusing and security responses, so you are never seen as being “heavy handed.”

4.     There are 9 levels of aggressive behavior in our CAPS Mobile App's Meter of Emerging Aggression (MEA). As an example, Bullying behavior is at the 4th Aggression Level on our MEA. Once you learn what the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Aggression Levels look like, you are seeing the precursors to Bullying which allows you to prevent Bullying. The same can be said for the precursors to violence.

5.     CAPS Mobile App determines the level of aggression and thereby the degree of threat (Low, Moderate and High. The App’s findings can be shared with a Threat Assessment Team, Human Resources, Management or any other individual with a CAPS Mobile App.

6.     CAPS Mobile App uses no mental health, culture, gender, education, age or sexual orientation in its aggression assessment. Therefore, it does not conflict, nor contravene, HIPAA, FERPA (in our schools) and/or the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

7.     On the off chance that you are threatened by an active shooter, a knife wielding aggressor, or a suicide bomber, the CAPS Mobile App will offer suggested Best Practice responses.

8.     You can have this one-of-a-kind tool that identifies, records, analyzes and recommends effective responses, all in the palm of your hand, with CAPS Mobile App for one year for the low price of just $49.95. Discounts are available for volume licenses.

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF:

There were more mass shootings across the United States in 2019 than there were days in the year (417), according to a gun violence research group. Cities across the nation are seeing a startling rise in murders after years of declines. Too often, when it comes to lower levels on our Aggression Continuum, people in our workplaces, schools and malls today seem to be uncaring, less considerate and more negatively “aggressive.”

1.     Do you want control of Aggressive Behavior around you, i.e., bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, conflict, or violence?

2.     Do you want to reliably prevent bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, conflict and violence around you without violating privacy regulations?

3.     Are you tired of Security/Law Enforcement simply reacting to violence, instead of preventing it?

4.     Do you feel less safe today than you did just five years ago?

5.     Do you know what to do if someone becomes overtly aggressive with you? Do you know what to do if someone starts shooting while you are at work, your children are at school, or when you and your family are at the mall?

Because these scientifically validated precursors use no mental health assessments, nor considerations of culture, gender, education, age or sexual orientation in its aggression assessment, the CAPS Mobile App does not violate, conflict, nor contravene, HIPAA, FERPA or the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

CAPS MOBILE APP FOR HUMAN RESOURCE PROFESSIONALS

According to SHRM, “the mission of any human resources department is to support the goals and challenges of their company by providing services that promote a work environment that is characterized by fair treatment of staff, open communications, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect.” Aggressive behavior by individuals in your workforce undermines the core principals of a positive work environment and in the worst possible situations, violence occurs.

1.     Are you tired of employees using subjective references to describe co-worker’s behavior? The use of subjective references by accusers make it difficult for Human Resource professionals to act and unfortunately these complaints lead down a rabbit hole that produces claims and counterclaims costing significant human capital without clearly defined outcomes.

2.     Without the ability to easily articulate the problem with fellow co-workers, too often, employees will not act or raise awareness to ongoing issues based upon subjective references alone, so they do nothing until after an incident occurs, which is always too late. How often have you heard after the fact, “We knew that Bob was a problem and it was only a matter of time!”

3.     No longer does anyone need to address aggressive behavior with subjective reference. CAPS Mobile App offers objective, measurable, definable observables that that can, in a measured way, significantly enhance productivity by reliably and systematically identifying and raising awareness to unwanted behaviors in a way that is objective, and does not violate HIPAA, FERPA (in our schools), and/or the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

4.     Our Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) will identify individuals who may be on a “pathway to violence” by exhibiting behaviors such as bullying, harassment, verbal abuse, discrimination, and open conflict that often occur in the lower stages of the Aggression Continuum. When left unaddressed, these lower stages of observed behavior can lead to increased violence potential, requiring more significant effort and intervention to mitigate the potential for violence in the workplace.

  5.     You can have this one-of-a-kind tool that identifies, records, analyzes and recommends effective responses, all in the palm of your hand, with CAPS Mobile App for one year for the low price of just $49.95. Discounts are available for volume licenses.

CAPS MOBILE APP FOR THE MILITARY:

1.     You are entering a village with your translator at your side, how well can you trust this person? Is this person reliable? Has this person been leveraged against you and your team?

2.     You are on outpost in Afghanistan. You are approached by alleged "friendlies," how can you tell?

3.     You are on base with an ally, but his behavior appears different. How can you tell whether this person is being leveraged against you?

4.     With an average of 22 suicides per day in the Military, there is a way to identify someone on the path to suicide or worst yet, murder suicide!

5.     "Insider Threats" and soldier-"suicides" are a constant problem for the Military throughout deployments around the world. You can use the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) Mobile App to reliably determine whether an alleged ally might become "someone on the path to violence" against you and your team.

6.     Because these scientifically validated precursors use no mental health assessments, nor considerations of culture, gender, education, age or sexual orientation in its aggression assessment, the CAPS Mobile App does not violate, conflict, nor contravene, HIPAA, FERPA or the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and thus can be used anywhere on the globe.

CAPS MOBILE APP FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT:

1.         You step out of your vehicle, and approach a suspect; how can you determine whether this person is a threat?

2.         Internal Affairs: How do you determine whether an officer/deputy is on the path to excessive force?

3.         How is your Agency-Community trust relationship? Do you wish to rebuild your trust relationship with your community?

4.         There are far too many citizens and officers/deputies using subjective references, which are biased and can too easily lead to claims of Excessive Force, lawsuits and a scrutinizing visit by DOJ. Start using this Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) Mobile App, which uses scientifically validated "objective," measurable observables. Consider teaching these skills to your community leaders and significantly rebuild trust.

5.         Because these scientifically validated indicators use no mental health assessments, nor considerations of culture, gender, education, age or sexual orientation in its aggression assessment, the CAPS Mobile App does not violate, conflict, nor contravene, HIPAA, FERPA (in our schools) and/or the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

6.         In addition to the above, the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) Mobile App also provides recommended diffusing responses to all levels of aggressive behavior. These responses correspond to the level of aggression; thus, they prevent excessive force and provide an opportunity to prevent violence.

7.         This ability to prevent violence not only eliminates the possibility of victims, but also eliminates the perpetrator of that violence. Imagine eliminating the horrific cycle of arrest, incarceration, release and arrest again.
